Essential fluids crucial to you and your vehicle

Automotive fluids are incredibly important for your vehicle to work and remain in good condition. Different types of fluids each serve their own distinct purpose, and it is important to examine them regularly to guarantee that your vehicle performs optimally.

The following list will go over some of the necessary automotive fluids, what they do, and how to assess them:

1. Engine oil: The engine oil is responsible for lubricating the components of your engine, stopping them from rubbing against each other and overheating and damaging them. To test your engine oil, locate the dipstick, pull it out, and clean it off. Insert it again, and then remove it one more time to examine the oil level. If it is low, fill it back up with the correct oil.

2. Transmission fluid: The transmission fluid acts as a lubricant for the transmission gears, ensuring that they are in proper working order. To inspect the fluid, look for the dipstick, pull it out, and wipe it down. Insert the dipstick back and check the reading. The fluid should be clear and red in color. If it is brown or emits a burning smell, it is time for a replacement.

3. Brake fluid: The brake fluid keeps your brakes functioning smoothly, and protects against rust and corrosion in the braking system. To examine your brake fluid level, locate the brake fluid reservoir, and ensure it is at the recommended level shown on the reservoir. If it is low, fill it back up with the right brake fluid and look for any leaks.

4. Coolant: The coolant keeps the temperature of your engine in check by absorbing the heat from fuel combustion. To test your coolant level, find the reservoir tank and verify that the fluid is between the minimum and maximum levels. Make sure that the engine is cool before performing this check.

If you see any signs that indicate a problem, such as reduced fuel efficiency, engine overheating, weird noises, or strange odors, it is likely an issue with one of the above fluids. It is important to visit our workshop as soon as possible in order to address the problem before it gets worse.

Automotive fluids are essential for the correct operation and upkeep of your vehicle. Ensure that you frequently inspect these fluids to guarantee that they perform optimally, and if there are any problems, please do not hesitate to contact Pacific Garage for all your automotive needs.
